Rights groups: There are about 5,700 Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli jails.

Israeli occupation forces raided on Thursday night several areas across occupied West Bank and arrested seven Palestinians.

Local Palestinian sources said that the Palestinians were arrested during night raids to their homes and all of them were arrested from their beds.

In a statement, the Israeli occupation army said that the seven Palestinians were “suspected of involvement in popular hostile activities.”

The statement did not elaborate on the nature of these alleged “activities.”

Israeli army carries out frequent arrest campaigns across the West Bank -- including occupied East Jerusalem -- on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians.

According to Palestinian figures, roughly 5,700 Palestinians -- including numerous women and children -- are currently languishing in Israeli detention facilities.
