Israeli occupation forces detained 470 people from the Palestinian territories during August, including 50 children and 11 women, three Palestinian prisoners’ advocacy groups said on Monday.
The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS), the Prisoners Commission, and Addameer Prisoner Support said 162 detained Palestinians were from occupied East Jerusalem, 82 from the Ramallah district and 50 from the Al-Khalol area.
According to the three groups, the Israeli occupation forces also detained 44 Palestinians from Jenin, 38 from Nablus, 30 from Bethlehem, 24 from Qalqilya and the rest from Tulkarm, Toubas, Salfit and Jericho districts.
Meanwhile, the groups said that the Israeli occupation forces detained seven Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
Official reports have stated that there were 5,700 Palestinians inside the Israeli jails by the end of August, including 40 women and 220 children.
More than 500 Palestinians are held in administrative detention without charge or trial, including 76 orders issue in August, some were for the first time and others were renewed.
