Israeli occupation forces shot and wounded 96 peaceful Palestinian protesters during the weekly Gaza protests of the Great March or Return and Breaking the Siege on Friday.
According to a statement issued by the minister of health in Gaza, 37 of the wounded were children in addition to three women.
The statement stated that 34 of the wounded were shot with live ammunition, including three suffered serious wounds.
Since the Gaza start of the weekly protests in March last year, over 307 protesters have been martyred and thousands more wounded by Israeli troops deployed near the buffer zone.
Demonstrators demand an end to Israel’s 12-year blockade of the Gaza Strip, which has shattered the coastal enclave’s economy and deprived its two million inhabitants of many basic amenities.
