After failure of Israeli leaders of the two largest blocs in Knesset Benjamin Netanyahu of the Likud and Benny Gantz of Blue and White, Israeli sources said Israel is going to third elections.
An Israeli source close to Benjamin Netanyahu told Palestine Post 24 that the coming elections would take place in March 2020.
Gantz is to return the mandate of forming a government to the Israeli president Reuven Rivlin tonight after two weeks of failure talks with other parties.
This came following a press conference held by the head of Israel Bitenu Avigdor Lieberman who said: “I did not save any efforts to reach a wide unity government.”
“Unfortunately,” he said, “Netanyahu is deviating the Likud for the sake of the religious parties.”
He added: “We do not sell our principles for positions even if they were the most senior positions. I was promised to become prime minister or deputy prime minister.”
Commenting on this, specialist in Israeli affairs Adnan abu-Amer said: “The issue of the Israeli government was done. There is not government. Three elections in the span of one year.”
He added: “This is not democracy. It is an overwhelming chaos invading Israel and it is leading to unending divisions.”
