Israeli occupation navy shoots, wounds Palestinian fisherman

The fisherman was wounded in his back and neck and he is now in a stable condition.

In the early Sunday morning, Israeli occupation navy opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats off the Gaza coasts and wounded one fisherman, Head of Fishermen Syndicate said.

According to eyewitnesses, the Israeli navy intercepted the Palestinian fishing boats while sailing in the limits of the fishing zone permitted by the Israeli occupation authorities.

The Israeli navy used loudspeakers to shout at the Palestinian fishermen, insult them and ask them to stop fishing.

Immediately, the fishing boats turned back and sailed towards the coast, but the Israeli navy opened fire at the last fishing boat while it was leaving the water.

Palestinian medical sources identified the wounded fisherman as Yousef abu-Warda, 23, noting that he was shot in his back and neck and he is now in a stable condition.
