Gaza to plunge in full darkness in days

Aug 16,2020

Since 2018, Gaza has only eight hours of electricity per day.

The only power plant in besieged Gaza Strip to shut down on Tuesday and the coastal enclave would plunge in full darkness due to new Israeli punishing measures.

In a statement, the Palestinian Power Authority said: “The power plant is to completely shut down on Tuesday when the fuel needed to operate it runs out.”

Since 2018, Gaza has only eight hours of electricity per day.

Before this date, Gaza had only four hours of electricity every day due to the strict Israeli siege.

In 2006, Israeli occupation bombed one out of three turbines of the plant and Israel has so far preventing its repair.
